Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 slices slices of bread Use white, whole wheat, or brioche for different textures and flavors.
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter Choose creamy or chunky according to your preference.
  • 1 piece ripe banana, sliced The key to sweetness and creaminess; overripe bananas work best.
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened Ensures a nice crisp outside; feel free to use margarine for a dairy-free option.
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey or cinnamon For added sweetness or a touch of spice (optional).

Method

Preparation
  1. Spread peanut butter on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle honey or cinnamon on top of the peanut butter if desired.
  2. Arrange the banana slices evenly over the peanut buttered side of one bread slice, then place the other slice on top with the peanut butter side facing down.
  3. Spread softened butter on the outside of both slices of bread to achieve a golden, crispy exterior.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet.
  2. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the peanut butter inside is melted.
  3. Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm for the best taste.

Notes

For extra texture, consider adding chopped nuts into the banana layer. Serve warm with a side of fruit or a drink of your choice.
