Ingredients

For the marinade

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar Provides a tangy sweetness that complements the meat.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Enhances moisture and helps to create a flavorful crust when grilled.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary Infuses the steak with a fragrant herbaceous aroma.
  • 1 teaspoon oregano Adds a subtle earthiness to the flavor profile.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential seasoning that enhances the overall taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Essential seasoning that enhances the overall taste.
For the steak
  • 4 pieces thick cut steak (ribeye or sirloin) Choose a thick cut, at least two inches, for a juicy and tender result.

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing together all marinade ingredients in a closed bag or bowl, excluding the steaks.
  2. Add the steaks to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated.
  3. Place the bag in the fridge to marinate for 2-6 hours, turning a couple of times.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill, BBQ, or pan grill to approximately 400°F (204°C).
  2. Remove the steaks from the marinade and place them on the hot grill.
  3. Grill the steaks for 4-6 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. Let the steaks rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
  5. Slice the steak against the grain and serve warm.

Notes

For the best flavor, use high-quality cuts of steak. Make sure to preheat the grill properly to achieve a good sear. Letting the steak rest is crucial for juiciness.
