Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken A lean protein that absorbs flavors beautifully; can substitute with ground turkey or pork.
  • 1/2 cup Orange Juice Freshly squeezed adds vibrant flavor; bottled juice works too.
  • 1 tbsp Orange Zest Enhances the citrus aroma; use lemon zest if unavailable.
  • 3 tbsp Soy Sauce Provides savory depth; use low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 1 tbsp Honey Adds natural sweetness; maple syrup can be an alternative.
  • 2 tbsp Rice Vinegar Balances flavors with acidity; white vinegar works if in a pinch.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced for flavor; garlic powder can substitute in a tablespoon.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger Offers a zesty kick; use less if using powdered ginger.
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch Used to thicken the sauce; arrowroot powder is a gluten-free alternative.
  • 2 tbsp Green Onions Adds freshness on top; use shallots if on hand.
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste Essential for seasoning; adjust to your preference.

Method

Cooking
  1. Cook ground chicken in a skillet over medium heat until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Whisk until blended.
  3. Pour sauce over cooked chicken, stir to coat, and sprinkle cornstarch.
  4. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper; serve garnished with green onions.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh ingredients and allow the dish to sit for a minute after cooking to enhance the taste. Pair with jasmine rice for a fulfilling meal.
