- In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until browned, draining any excess grease.
- In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, followed by the cooked ground beef mixture. Optionally, add mixed vegetables.
Assembly and Baking
- Spread the cream of mushroom soup over the layers, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Top with shredded cheese and cover the dish with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
