  • 1 onion, chopped Adds flavor when sautéed.
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (optional) Frozen or fresh can be used.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until browned, draining any excess grease.
  3. In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, followed by the cooked ground beef mixture. Optionally, add mixed vegetables.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spread the cream of mushroom soup over the layers, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  2. Top with shredded cheese and cover the dish with foil.
  3. Bake for 1 hour, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
  4. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
