Method
 

Preparation
  1. If desired, peel the apples, leaving the skins on for an extra fiber boost.
  2. Quarter each apple and remove the seeds and core.
Cooking
  1. Place the cut and cored apples in the slow cooker along with the water.
  2. Set the slow cooker to high and cook for about 2 hours, until the apples are tender and mushy.
Blending
  1. Once the apples are thoroughly cooked, pour the entire contents from the slow cooker, including the liquid, into a high-powered blender.
  2. Start blending on low speed, gradually increasing to high speed until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
  3. If desired, add ground cinnamon to the blender and blend again until fully combined.
Serving
  1. Transfer the applesauce to a glass jar for storage or serve it warm.

Notes

To enhance flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. The applesauce can be customized by adding spices or extracts as desired. Allow it to cool before transferring to jars to avoid condensation.
