Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups steamed broccoli, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt

Equipment

  • Steamer or pot to steam the broccoli
  • Mixing bowl to mix ingredients
  • Baking sheet for baking the tots

Method
 

  1. Steam broccoli until tender. Let cool slightly, then squeeze out excess moisture using a clean towel.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine broccoli, cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Chill the mixture for 15–30 minutes. Shape into small tots using your hands or a scoop.
  4. Place on a baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake at 400°F for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Notes

Chill the mixture before shaping for best results. Be sure to squeeze out all the broccoli moisture to avoid soggy tots.
