Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. In a large bowl, add salt, garlic powder, and half the flour, then stir to combine.
  4. Pour in the warm yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing well.
  5. Gradually stir in the remaining flour until an elastic dough forms. Knead for 3-5 minutes, adding more flour if needed.
  6. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl, turning to coat.
  7. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. After rising, punch down the dough gently to release air.
  3. Spread the dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
  4. Poke holes in the dough to prevent bubbling during baking.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the dough surface for added richness.
  6. Spread pizza sauce over the dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and your choice of toppings.
  7. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and garnish with parsley, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Slice into wedges and serve hot.
