  • to taste teaspoon salt Sea salt can elevate the taste further.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (grated) Use cheddar for a bolder flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread. Sprinkle reserved Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
Baking
  1. Place the slices buttered side up on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy.
  2. For extra crispiness, broil the toast for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  3. Remove from the oven, garnish with extra chopped parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. For longer-lasting freshness, refrigerate, but texture may change slightly. You can freeze unbaked slices between sheets of parchment paper or baked slices in a freezer bag.
