Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer.
Cooking
- Melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
- Pour the melted mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it into an even layer.
- If desired, sprinkle with optional toppings.
- Allow it to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
