Ingredients
  

For the Marinade
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos A soy sauce alternative
  • 2 tbsp honey Adds natural sweetness
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil Imparts rich nutty flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves Minced for aroma
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger Adds zesty kick
  • 1 tbsp Korean red pepper paste Provides heat
For the Beef
  • 1 lb boneless rib eye steak Thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For cooking
For Garnish
  • 2 stalks green onions Sliced
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds For visual appeal
For Serving
  • 3 cups cooked rice Optional, for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate the beef: Place the sliced rib eye steak in a large Ziploc bag.
  2. Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, combine coconut aminos, honey, toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Korean red pepper paste. Add the sauce to the beef and stir to combine. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Cooking
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add half of the marinated meat and arrange in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and caramelized.
  3. Repeat with remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the remaining marinated meat.
Serving
  1. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds, and serve over cooked rice.

Notes

For best results, marinate the rib eye overnight. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness—135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium.
