Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in both granulated and brown sugar until well combined.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
Cooking
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Stir in chocolate chips for extra decadence.
- Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then layer with crushed peanut butter cups. Top with the remaining brownie batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan.
Serving
- Once the brownies are completely cool, lift them out of the pan using the edges of the parchment paper.
- Cut into squares or bars and serve on a plate.
- Enjoy these delicious brownies as a dessert or an afternoon treat!
Notes
For best results, ensure your butter is melted but not too hot when mixing with sugars to prevent cooking the eggs. Store leftovers in an airtight container. You can freeze brownies for longer storage.
