Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups Cherry Tomatoes Use ripe and firm tomatoes for the best flavor; you can substitute grape tomatoes if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Enhances the richness; feel free to use a light oil if preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar Gives a tangy sweetness; red wine vinegar can work in a pinch.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Adds a savory depth; shallots or garlic powder can be alternatives.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances all flavors; use sea salt or kosher salt for better texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper Provides a gentle heat; white pepper can also be substituted.
  • Fresh Basil For garnish; parsley or oregano are good alternatives.

Method

Preparation
  1. Rinse and halve the cherry tomatoes to prepare them for marination.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Add the halved tomatoes to the marinade, stirring gently to coat each piece entirely.
  4. Let the tomatoes marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, allowing them to soak up all those incredible flavors.
  5. Serve garnished with fresh basil leaves, and enjoy the burst of flavors!

Notes

For added depth, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat. Use heirloom cherry tomatoes of different colors for a more visually appealing dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container with the marinade.
