Preparation
- Heat a skillet over medium heat to ensure even cooking.
- Generously spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, onto the skillet.
- Layer your chosen cheeses on top of the first slice of bread.
- If desired, add jalapeƱos, avocado, or salsa on top of the cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
Cooking
- Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Carefully flip to brown the other side and melt the cheese.
- Remove from the skillet, let it cool slightly, then slice and serve.
Notes
Serve hot and fresh, with a side salad or fresh vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Freeze uncooked sandwiches for up to one month.
