Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and prepare the sheet pans with parchment paper or a Silpat.
- In a large skillet, combine onion and ground beef with olive oil if necessary, cooking until beef is browned and onions are soft, about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Stir in taco seasoning until the beef and onion are well combined and flavorful. Remove the skillet from heat.
- Place the frozen pizza crusts on the prepared sheet pans.
- Evenly distribute the refried beans on each crust, leaving about a one-inch margin along the edges.
- Spoon the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly over the beans on both crusts.
- Sprinkle each crust with 3/4 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of cheddar cheese, ensuring even coverage.
- Bake for approximately 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is to your preference.
- Remove from oven and top with diced tomato and fresh cilantro before serving.
- Best served hot right out of the oven.
Notes
For a crispier crust, bake the crusts for a few minutes before adding toppings. Customize your pizza with different cheeses or include jalapeños for added spice. Allow pizza to rest for a couple of minutes after baking for easier slicing.
