  • 1 tbsp Baking powder Ensure it’s fresh for best results.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Sea salt works wonderfully.

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil.
  • 1 large Egg Substitute with a flax egg for a vegan option.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Fresh vanilla bean is even better!
Filling and Coating

  • 1/4 cup Sugar For rolling in cinnamon sugar.
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon Add a little nutmeg for extra warmth.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a mini donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the wet and dry ingredients until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fill each donut hole halfway with batter, add a dollop of Nutella, then top with more batter until almost full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden. Allow to cool slightly.
  7. Roll the warm donuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve warm with extra Nutella for dipping and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Can be frozen - just reheat in the oven.
