Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground beef Or use ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1 medium Onion Yellow or white works best.
  • 1 medium Bell pepper Green or red for sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Fresh garlic can also be used.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Soy sauce can be a substitute.
  • 1 cup Beef broth Vegetable broth can be a lighter substitute.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Provolone, Swiss, or Cheddar are great options.
  • 4 pieces Buns Soft burger buns or hoagie rolls.

Method

Cooking
  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off the excess grease.
  2. Stir in the onions and peppers. Cook on medium heat until the peppers are soft.
  3. Mix in the rest of the ingredients, bringing the mixture to a boil. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Spoon the mixture onto the buns, top with cheese, and savor every bite!

Notes

Always toast the buns for an added crunch. Prepare a homemade sauce instead of using pre-packaged ones for enhanced flavor. Use leftover filling creatively, like stuffing peppers.
