  • 1/4 cup Finely Chopped Red Onion Can substitute with green onions for a milder taste.
  • 1 Orange Bell Pepper Feel free to use any color pepper you have on hand.
  • 1 Lime Zest and juice of 1 lime; a lemon can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 handful Fresh Cilantro, Chopped Try substituting with parsley if cilantro isn’t your preference.
  • 1 pinch Salt Enhances flavors; don't skip this for the best results.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Maple syrup works for a vegan option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather and wash all produce.
  2. Dice the fresh pineapple into small chunks.
  3. Mince the red onion finely.
  4. Remove the seeds and chop the orange bell pepper.
Mixing
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped pineapple, red onion, orange pepper, lime zest, lime juice, and cilantro.
  2. Sprinkle a generous pinch of salt and drizzle honey, stirring gently to combine all ingredients evenly.
  3. Taste your salsa and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Chill and Serve
  1. Let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, chop ingredients the same size. Serve with grilled chicken or fish, and store leftovers in an airtight container.
