Ingredients
  

Pita Pizza Base
  • 2 pieces Pita Bread Opt for whole wheat for added nutrition.
Sauce and Cheese
  • 4 tablespoons Marinara Sauce Substitute with pesto or Alfredo sauce for variety.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Mix with provolone for a flavor twist.
Toppings
  • 10 slices Pepperoni Slices Can substitute with turkey pepperoni or fresh veggies.
  • 1 handful Fresh Basil Use dried basil in a pinch, but fresh is best.
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes Omit if a milder flavor is preferred.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spread approximately 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce evenly on top of one pita bread.
  2. Sprinkle about ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Arrange pepperoni slices on top and add any additional toppings you desire.
Cooking
  1. Place the assembled pita pizza in the air fryer basket and set it to cook at 375°F for 5-6 minutes until cheese is bubbling and edges are golden, or bake on a baking pan in a preheated oven at 400°F for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once cooked, slice with a pizza cutter and garnish with fresh basil and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

Avoid overloading the pizza with toppings to prevent sogginess. Preheat your air fryer or oven for even cooking. You can freeze the assembled pizza without baking, wrapping it tightly and cooking directly from frozen.
