Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt Adds moisture for a tender bread.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Creates a soft texture.
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder Helps the naan rise.
  • 1 tsp Salt Enhances flavor.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Adds richness and flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Water Hydrates the dough.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add olive oil and mix until a dough forms.
  3. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour until manageable.
  4. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  2. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Once hot, place the naan in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, bubbles will form.
  5. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Repeat with the remaining pieces, adding a little oil to the skillet if necessary.
Serving
  1. Remove naan from the skillet and keep warm in a clean kitchen towel.
  2. Serve immediately with your favorite dips, curries, or salads.

Notes

For a fluffier naan, ensure the yogurt is at room temperature. Let the dough rest longer for improved texture. Experiment with using whole wheat flour for a healthier twist. Brush with garlic butter for an extra layer of flavor. Keep cooked naan wrapped until serving to retain warmth and moisture.
