Method
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add olive oil and mix until a dough forms.
- If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour until manageable.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Cooking
- Divide the dough into equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once hot, place the naan in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, bubbles will form.
- Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining pieces, adding a little oil to the skillet if necessary.
Serving
- Remove naan from the skillet and keep warm in a clean kitchen towel.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dips, curries, or salads.
Notes
For a fluffier naan, ensure the yogurt is at room temperature. Let the dough rest longer for improved texture. Experiment with using whole wheat flour for a healthier twist. Brush with garlic butter for an extra layer of flavor. Keep cooked naan wrapped until serving to retain warmth and moisture.
