Ingredients

Mushrooms
  • 1 lb mushrooms (cleaned and stems trimmed) Choose cremini or button mushrooms for best results.
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp butter (unsalted, for sautéing) Unsalted butter won’t overpower other flavors; olive oil is a great alternative.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Fresh garlic adds fragrance; pre-minced garlic can save time.
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Provides a robust umami flavor; low-sodium versions are available.
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce Offers a salty kick; tamari can be used for gluten-free.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish) Can substitute with chives or cilantro.

Method

Preparation
  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel and trim the stems.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbling, about 1-2 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the prepared mushrooms and cook for 7-9 minutes until golden brown and tender, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper; simmer for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Garnishing
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
