Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Measure correctly for best results.
  • 2.5 teaspoons baking powder Gives the biscuits the rise they need.
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt Enhances the flavor; don't skip it!
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Adds a hint of sweetness that balances the savory notes.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup butter, grated Cold butter is essential for flaky texture.
  • 1 cup milk Adjust to achieve the right dough consistency.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Grate the cold butter and add it to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Use a fork to mix until the mixture resembles a coarse meal with tiny lumps.
  3. Gradually stir in the milk—don’t add it all at once! Add just enough until the dough pulls away from the side of the bowl.
Baking
  1. Scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet using a medium scoop.
  2. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and enjoy warm.
