Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the beef steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to create a marinade.
  3. Add sliced beef to the marinade, stirring to coat evenly. Let sit for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Chop the bell peppers and onion into bite-sized pieces, and mince the garlic and ginger.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add marinated beef to the skillet, spreading it out into a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the chopped bell peppers and onion. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. Pour in beef broth or water, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Serving
  1. Remove skillet from heat and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Serve hot over a bed of rice, steamed vegetables, or alongside your favorite whole grains.
  3. Garnish with fresh herbs or sesame seeds for added flavor and visual appeal.

Notes

For an extra bold flavor, marinate your beef for up to 30 minutes. You can substitute vegetable oil with sesame oil for a nutty flavor. This dish is great for meal prep, storing well in the fridge for up to four days.
