Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Marinade
  • 2 pounds Chicken Breasts Can substitute with thighs for more flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Can replace with honey or maple syrup.
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Regular paprika works too.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic is also excellent.
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder Can use freshly diced onions instead.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Adjust for heat preference; omit for a milder dish.
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt Table salt is a substitute but reduce by half.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Vegetable oil or avocado oil works too.
  • 1 medium Lemon, sliced Lime can substitute.
For the Yogurt Slaw
  • 1 cup Plain Yogurt Greek yogurt adds more creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Dill Switch with basil if unavailable.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Cilantro provides a twist.
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Chives Skip if not on hand.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice Vinegar can also be used.
  • 2 cups Green Cabbage Use coleslaw mix for variety.
For Serving
  • 4 pieces Pitas Opt for gluten-free if needed or use tortillas.
  • 2 medium Avocados Choose ripe avocados for creaminess.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, olive oil, and lemon slices. Add chicken breasts, ensuring they are uniformly coated.
Cooking
  1. Place the chicken on a large sheet pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until fully cooked.
  2. Meanwhile, mix yogurt, dill, parsley, chives, lemon juice, and cabbage in another bowl to create a flavorful slaw.
  3. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven. Slice it and arrange in pitas, topped with the slaw and avocados.
