Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts The main protein source for this hearty dish.
  • 1 cup sour cream Provides creaminess and moisture, plus it balances the flavors.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Adds flavor and gooey texture; feel free to use a blend for variety.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Acts as a binder and enhances the comforting nature of the dish.
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix Elevates the flavor profile effortlessly.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Necessary for sautéing the chicken to perfection.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Essential for seasoning the chicken.
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional) Adds a pop of color.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, and cook until browned on both sides, approximately 5-6 minutes each side.
  3. In a bowl, combine sour cream, cream of chicken soup, ranch dressing mix, and half of the shredded cheese.
  4. Place the cooked chicken in a baking dish and pour the creamy mixture over the top, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  5. Top with the remaining shredded cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through, and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the chicken, skip the preheating step, and use high-quality cheese that melts well for better flavor and texture. This dish is perfect for serving alongside rice or salad.
