Method
- Heat oil in a large skillet. Sauté onion and garlic for 3 minutes until golden.
- Add ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking up as you go.
- Pour in broth. Simmer 1 min, scraping the pan to deglaze.
- Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, bouillon, herbs, sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered 20–30 min (or longer).
- Boil spaghetti (minus 1 minute). Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water. Drain.
- Toss pasta with sauce and pasta water for 1–2 minutes. Serve with optional parmesan & parsley.
Notes
Letting the sauce simmer longer deepens the flavor. Freezes beautifully for future meals.
