  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with a gluten-free blend.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Ensure it’s fresh for best results.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Use sea salt for added richness.
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar Replace with coconut sugar for caramel flavor.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed Cold butter is key for flakiness.
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream Half-and-half is a lighter alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances aroma and taste.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped Can substitute with blueberries or raspberries.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar together thoroughly.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gently stir in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and strawberries until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
  6. Roll or pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness, then cut it into rounds.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. They pair wonderfully with whipped cream or honey. Can also make a delicious brown sugar cinnamon butter for serving.
