For the Frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Used for the frosting, it creates a smooth and sweet topping.
  • 1/4 cup strawberry preserves Adds a fruity dimension to the frosting, making it extra flavorful.
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk Adjusts the consistency of the frosting to the perfect spreadable texture.
  • 4 oz. cream cheese (optional) Brings creaminess to the frosting, enhancing its richness and depth of flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray an 8x8 pan with nonstick spray or line it with foil for easy removal.
Mix and Bake
  1. In a large bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  2. Spread the brownie mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  3. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan.
Prepare Frosting
  1. In another bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, strawberry preserves, milk, and optional cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Spread the strawberry frosting evenly over the cooled brownies before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra fudginess, lightly underbake them as they will continue cooking while cooling. You can also top the brownies with sliced fresh strawberries or sprinkles for added texture.
