Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow to proof for about 5-10 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour and salt, then create a well in the center.
- Add the proofed yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs into the well, mixing until a dough forms.
Cooking
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, roll the dough into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread softened cream cheese and a layer of sliced strawberries over the rolled-out dough.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar evenly on top of the fruit layer.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into even pieces.
- Place the sliced rolls into the greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Serving
- Remove the cinnamon rolls from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Serve warm, drizzled with a simple glaze or topped with more fresh strawberries.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature cream cheese and ensure fresh yeast. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
