- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

- Combine the sliced strawberries with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar in a bowl.

- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar in another mixing bowl.
- Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Stir until you have a smooth batter.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon the strawberries and their juices over the batter.
- Scatter the cubed cream cheese evenly across the top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling.
