For the Pie Crust
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour For a tender and flaky crust.
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Chilled, for a flakier texture.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor in the crust.
  • 6 tablespoons Cold water Add gradually to form a dough.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash and hull the strawberries, then slice them into halves or quarters.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberries with sugar, lemon juice, and a sprinkle of salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with salt to prepare the crust.
  5. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Add cold water gradually, mixing until the dough forms.
Cooking
  1. Roll out the dough in a rectangular shape to fit your baking sheet.
  2. Transfer the rolled-out dough to the baking sheet and press it into the corners.
  3. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly over the crust.
  4. Roll out additional crust for the top, or create a lattice design.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Serving
  1. Allow the pie to cool slightly before slicing.
  2. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for maximum flavor. Chill your butter before mixing for a flakier crust.
