Preparation
- In a bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and black pepper to create a delicious marinade.
- Place the chicken thighs in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Cooking
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and arrange skin-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Roast the chicken for 35-40 minutes, or until the skin turns crisp and the internal temperature reads 165°F (74°C).
- In the last 10 minutes of cooking, baste the chicken with any reserved marinade for extra flavor.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Notes
Don’t skip marinating for a more flavorful and juicy chicken. To amplify citrus notes, experiment with zesting an orange, or add chili flakes for a spicy twist.
