  • 1 bag Frozen Tater Tots Consider using sweet potato tots for a twist.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese Monterey Jack or dairy-free cheese work as alternatives.
Seasoning and Vegetables
  • to taste Salt Can use garlic powder or onion powder for added depth.
  • to taste Pepper
  • optional Peas, corn, carrots Substitute with chopped broccoli or green beans for variety.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and any additional vegetables; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
  5. Arrange the frozen Tater Tots on top of the mixture.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the Tater Tots.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the Tater Tots are golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, straight from the oven, with a side salad or crusty bread. Tater Tot Casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge. It also freezes well for up to 2-3 months.
