Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup Oat Flour Any gluten-free flour can work in its place.
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder Ensure it’s fresh for best results.
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt Regular salt can work if that's what you have.
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Feel free to experiment with pumpkin spice.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup Almond Milk Soy or oat milk are good alternatives.
  • 2 tbsp Oil Canola or melted coconut oil keeps them moist; replace with unsweetened applesauce for reduced fat.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Almond extract is a nice alternative.
  • 2 tbsp Sugar Substitute with maple syrup or a sugar alternative as desired.
Add-ins
  • 1 medium Grated Apple Opt for pears for a twist.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine oat flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and sea salt. Stir until blended.
  2. Add almond milk, oil, sugar, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
  3. Fold in the grated apple gently.
  4. Allow the waffle batter to rest for about 5-10 minutes if time allows.
Cooking
  1. Pour batter into your heated waffle iron according to the manufacturer's guidelines (about 1/3 cup per section).
  2. Cook according to your waffle iron's instructions, adding more time if needed for a golden brown finish.
  3. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh apples for the best flavor and texture. Handle the batter gently to avoid dense waffles. Monitor cooking time to achieve your preferred crispiness.
