Method
Cooking the Pasta and Broccoli
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions.
- In the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving some pasta water.
Sautéing and Combining
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Toss in the pasta and broccoli. Mix well and add reserved pasta water if needed for moisture.
- Season with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice.
- Serve topped with nutritional yeast if desired.
Notes
Experiment with different pasta shapes for variety. Can be made a one-pot meal by cooking veggies directly with the pasta.
