Preparation
- Peel, core, and chop the pears into small pieces.
- In a large pot, combine the chopped pears, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Stir gently to coat the pears.
Cooking
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the pears soften and release their juices (about 10-15 minutes).
- Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Continue to cook the pureed mixture over low heat for about 30 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter until fully melted.
- Pour into sterilized jars, leaving space at the top; let cool before sealing.
Notes
Store in sterilized jars in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Freezer-friendly for six months.
