  • 6 cups Pears, peeled, cored, and chopped Choose ripe, flavorful pears.
  • 1 cup Sugar Adjust based on pear sweetness; use honey or maple syrup as alternatives.
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice Adds brightness and helps preserve color.
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon Provides warmth and spice.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Adds velvety finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel, core, and chop the pears into small pieces.
  2. In a large pot, combine the chopped pears, sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Stir gently to coat the pears.
Cooking
  1. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the pears soften and release their juices (about 10-15 minutes).
  2. Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  3. Continue to cook the pureed mixture over low heat for about 30 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the butter until fully melted.
  5. Pour into sterilized jars, leaving space at the top; let cool before sealing.

Notes

Store in sterilized jars in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Freezer-friendly for six months.
