Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt Provides the base and moisture; non-dairy yogurt works as a substitute.
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Creates the dough; substitute with whole wheat flour for extra fiber.
  • 1 tbsp Sugar A touch of sweetness; use coconut sugar for a lower-glycemic option.
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder Helps the rolls rise; ensure it’s fresh for best results.
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda A secondary leavening agent; necessary for this recipe’s unique texture.
  • 1/2 tsp Salt Enhances flavor; you can omit if you’re watching sodium intake.
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon Adds warmth and spice; consider a blend of cinnamon and nutmeg for a twist.
Filling
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter (melted) Richness in flavor; coconut oil serves as a non-dairy alternative.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar For that gooey filling; raw sugar can be used for a crunchier texture.
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon For sprinkling on the filling.
Toppings
  • 1/4 cup Milk (for drizzling) Adds an extra touch of moisture before serving; use almond or oat milk as alternatives.
  • optional Glaze Made from powdered sugar mixed with milk.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  4. Brush melted butter over the dough and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  5. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  6. Place the rolls in the greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Drizzle warm with milk before serving.

Notes

Avoid using expired baking powder and overmixing the dough to ensure tender texture and proper rise. Serve warm for the best experience.
